Apple Bourbon Crisp Cocktail
WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS APPLE BOURBON CRISP COCKTAIL
This delicious, festive, fall/winter cocktail is sure to be a favorite amongst your more sophisticated drinkers, though, don’t be intimidated if you generally shy away from bourbon - it’s not as prominent as in, say, an old fashioned. The bourbon adds a nice, warm depth to the drink which brings out the spices in the cider but is balanced with the sweetness of apple cider (and some maple syrup) and cut with bitters and lemon.
I am not one to order an old fashioned or other whisky/bourbon drinks - they’re a bit intense and overwhelming to me; however, I find this one to have the perfect balance of other ingredients to make it enjoyable for someone who doesn’t want to drink straight bourbon! This is definitely a strong drink, great if you just want one drink to sip on, but the drink isn’t completely overwhelmed with the flavor and intensity of the bourbon.
If you’re looking for a lighter, more refreshing drink that might appeal to a wider audience, check out these Apple Cider Gin Spritzes.

a quick note about health and alcohol
I started this blog to document the way I eat to encourage health and healing, but I do still enjoy alcohol. I fully realize that it is not health-promoting or beneficial to autoimmune conditions. That being said, my condition is not severe and I’ve personally decided that it’s worth it to me at this point in time to include in my life. I say this because it’s a completely personal decision and though I am comfortable with the consequences (and am continuously working to be more mindful and sparing with my intake), you may not be, and I in no way want to encourage something that derails your health and healing journey! I hope to create mocktail recipes in the future!
